Last 28th and 29th May in Split (Hrvatska) a meeting took place. The meeting was organized by Split County; MARINAS partneship verified the situation of the project, planned the works of next months and talked about new collaboration opportunities in the new European financing program IPA - Adriatic 2007-2013.
Ancona Province, by presenting the IPA Cross Border Cooperation Programme indicated the possibility to continue the collaboration for the construction of an integrated tourism in the Adriatic. The proposed documents, the reading and the comments fixed the proposals and the possible efforts of the partners in the present and in the future:
a) establish a stronger contact with institutional realities involved in projects similar to MARINAS. The case of Adrion Forum Chamber of Commerce of the Adriatic and Ionian - www.adrion.forumaic.org - may represent a good basis to supplement and complement the work done, to facilitate the continuation of the objectives set out in our project and to contribute effectively to building an integrated area;
b) to facilitate a closer cooperation in education / training. In particular, the collaboration between institutions involved in tourism seems appropriate for an effective exchange of knowledge and good practices between areas that are different by language, traditions and economic development;
c) against the port tourism it is a good thing to value the target. It would be appropriate to "capture" the attention of over 24 metres boats because they provide more development opportunities. This can be made by improving the marine services in order to make them more attractive and competitive (in particular the services of western Adriatic side);
