It overlooks Piazza del Senato and is next to Palazzo Ferretti, to which it was once connected directly so that the noble family could privately take apart in services. It was built in the 18th century by the Carmelites - hence its other name of "degli Scalzi" or "barefeet" - on the site of a medieval church. Of note is the grand dome covered in copper that sits atop the church and is easily identifiable in the skyline of the city. Inside, with a circular plan, are a notable polychrome wooden Crucifix with a Byzantine imprint above the main altar and a St Teresa in the chancel above the entrance, attributed to Francesco Solimena.
