It is the last sea-lane that we take into consideration to cross from Ancona to Croatia; it is the longest one (about 77 miles) and here you steer for 80°. About winds, we repeat the above-mentioned consideration with the northwest wind once more broader and the southwest wind narrower. When sailing about 12 miles from the Croatian coastline, it is time to fly the Croatian flag and the yellow "Q" flag according to the international signal book.
Now we’re steering to the Vidilica’s head, on the southern point of Dugi Otok. Entering the zone, we leave Vidilica’s head on our left and a little Island on our right: it is Sestrice where a very charming lighthouse stands. The light coloured tower is decorated with a red spiral that climbs to the light room, all along the impressive building.
We’re crossing the waters between the Telascica Nature reserve and the Kornati National Park. If our boar draws less than 2, 10 metres, we can leave the Katina little island on our left and steady guided by two white building decorated with a black line; wile crossing, the two building have to be lined up. Instead, if our boat draws more than 2, 10 metres and less than 4 metres, we left Katina Island on our right and cross a canal which have been opened round ten years ago to permit crossing to the hydrofoil that at those time linked Zadar to Ancona and vice versa.
The voyage goes on (now we’re sailing in sheltered waters) by leaving on left the southern point of Dugi Otok and steering north westwards. Sali is the first village that we raise on our left (after a voyage of four miles circa); it is a beautiful little town, which has maintained the charming atmosphere and look of an ancient seafaring centre. Calling port at Sali, we wharf just entering the port, on our starboard, to attend the necessary customs formalities
To head for Zadar, we’ll have a round four-hour crossing. Setting sails from Sali we steer to the Zdrelac canal (a bridge surmount it) between Ugljan Island and Pasman Island. Just boats with mast lower than 17 metres to the sea level are able to cross this course (even if a limit of 16, 50 metres is signalled). Boats with bigger rigging have to head for the northern point of Ugljan Island, or for the southern point of Pasman Island.
