Nature, art, culture and relax, in an everlasting search for a certificated quality tourism, represent the true features that qualify a really charming shore, with its golden low and sandy seasides, which mirror the mid Adriatic geomorphology faithfully.
Teramo’s coast is nearly 60 kilometres long and is dominated by the marvellous sinuous hills, moreover embellished by the splendid scenery offered by the Gran Sasso of Italy, which stands out as it wants to protect the whole provincial territory of Teramo. Along the “riviera” we find seven towns from north to south: Martinsicuro, Alba Adriatica, Tortoreto, Giulianova with its yacht port, Roseto degli Abruzzi, Pineto and Silvi. The “seven sisters” are ready to welcome you with the beauty of their sea, which has been prized with four blue flags, and with the excellence of their reception services and facilities.
Although Teramo’s riviera evidences a sensible calling for the lots of people who love bathing tourism, it also addresses to those who love the direct touch with nature. All those who are interested in visiting naturalistic sites can easily get to the wild and unpolluted area comprising Giulianova and Pineto, where it is possible to admire the majestic Mediterranean pini selvatici. Therefore that’s an unpolluted nature added to the wonderful monuments. A true example is given by the Cerrano seaside, in the district of Pineto, where you can find a fascinating and suggestive ancient “torrione” (tower).
The hinterland is characterized by nature and cities of art. The province of Teramo is a territory rich in ecosystems which actually boasts one national park, six natural reserves and three sea oases settled along the coast, between Martinsicuro and Silvi.
The main cultural centres are Atri, with Acquaviva Dukes’ palace, Castelli, capital of ceramic art in Abruzzo, Isola del Gran Sasso and Campli, important sites of religious tourism, Pietracamela, a mountain village with stone houses, Civitella del Tronto, with solemn Bourbon fortress, a masterpiece of military engineering with its 25000 square feet of land that make it the largest in Europe.
